Disease was associated with shameless sin in the ancient time. Nowadays the society made the progress. Yet, some of us are still discriminated and marginalized in some extent owing to our physical and mental defect. This unfair situation simulates me to create this artwork. I use different materials and pattern to decorate five wooden sketch mannequins and represents five universal illnesses - obesity, physical disability, cancer, depression, the deaf, blind and mute. The mannequins used as the base are exactly the same . It conveys a message that although we have different imperfections outside, we are equal and similar inside so we do not have feel ashamed for that. On top of that, there is a photograph album of the dolls. For instance, the daily life scenes of them watching movie, commuting and reading is included in it. It means that despite being defective, patients can still live a wonderful and normal life like all of us do.
